Visit to Innisfail, Nth Queensland

In Feburary 2008 we went to Innisfail ( One hour south of Cairns, North Queensland) to visit my brother Reon and sister- in-law Sharon, for Reon's birthday. It was the rainny season but we struck it lucky and got some fine sunny days. It was also stinking hot and really sticky and muggy with temparatures at about 32 degrees.

This photo was taken at Cairns airport the day we left. I started with this pic because itis the only one of the four of us we managed to get and also we all look healthy and happy. But it was a hard day for me saying goodbye.

The photos below of our week show us having a good time and getting to see some of the landscape.

Local Mena Creek Environs

Anthea & Julie explore the local environs. We were very anxious about the wild life that might have been lurking in the sugar cane or the streams waiting to spring out at us !

Atherton Tablelands

The various falls we stopped off to visit the day we went to Mareeba where the Cairns Highlands coffee is grown and roasted. The views were spectacular.
